Good day! Does it make sense to buy more expensive power cables (e.g., Audioquest) to get even more out of the Vibelink Amp and Ultra? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks, Markus

You’re going to get a lot of no and lots of science. I’m a pathway to yes :). I use a Topping linear power supply with my Pro Plus with pleasing results. I also use audiophile power cables throughout. If you’re not sure and you’d like to try, I’d recommend a less expensive cable first. The WAudio cable on Amazon that’s the black with red stripe is inexpensive, and was even rebranded and sold by an audiophile dealer at one point (Audiogon had a thread on this and that dealer’s shenanigans). If you get positive results, you can then explore other high-end cables if you want. If you get no results, then now you know. Good luck and best wishes.

"You’re going to get a lot of no and lots of science." --> Because that is the only way that makes sense and is easy to prove.

"The WAudio cable on Amazon that’s the black with red stripe is inexpensive, and was even rebranded and sold by an audiophile dealer at one point (Audiogon had a thread on this and that dealer’s shenanigans)" --> Here you give a perfect example of how these scams work. ;)

I can only say one thing.

The Optical cable included with the Ultra sounds great. And the fit is fine 🤗

@onlyoneme was going to do some testing on shielded power cables. I don't know if he ever got around to it.

If you're willing to pay for an expensive power cable, I recommend to have an electrician run a dedicate line from breaker box to outlet for your audio equipment and install a surge protection breaker. This way, your audio equipment is less affected by other electronics and appliances and protected from power surges. I believe this option can be cheaper than expensive power cable. You can also DIY power cable similar to expensive power cord at much reasonable cost.

Always remember. The more expensive a product is in the audio world the more…..AUDIOPHILE…. It is. Seriously…no. Buying a new power cord will lighten wallet a little but that’s about it

I simply can't imagine that the included power cable is of good quality; WIIM has to cut corners somewhere. Why did I even ask this question? Nothing has changed in my electrical system; the protected power distributor is plugged directly into the wall. Ever since I started using the two WIIMs, I've been hearing a clicking noise whenever I turn another device on or off.

How this price came about overall is still suspect to me anyway. So far, I can't find anything to complain about; the phono amplifier is also good in my opinion.

Thank you for all your feedback, musical greetings from Vienna
